In 2018, I contributed significantly to development of the Yarn narrative scripting language and associated toolsets. While working at Stirfire Studios, and utilizing Yarn as part of my workflow, I was involved in an effort, alongside the YarnSpinner development community to standardize and clean up language syntax. This resulted in a cleaner, friendlier language that assumes less about its users’ previous knowledge.
Since the language had changed slightly, the documentation required an update, and I did a comprehensive pass over the existing dialogue reference materials.
Additionally, for much of 2018, I worked as a designer on Jacquard, a Yarn authoring tool that takes design cues from Twine. It is a heavy-duty editor built to track dozens of characters and variables, and is designed to be suitable for use on games of massively varying scale.
